BC Fed Health & Safety
Starting Friday April 26th the BC Federation of Labour is offering a FREE 10 week course for Occupational Health & Safety using English as an Additional Language (EAL)
The goal of this 10 week / 4 hours per week (Friday daytime) program is to educate participants about workplace health and safety using an EAL curriculum model. Participants will have an opportunity to improve their language skills while learning about workers’ rights in health and safety topics such as workplace violence, preventing back injuries, workplace chemicals and identification of hazards.
The course is FREE. Please contact the union office at 604-273-1651 to find out how you can attend.

Members wishing to attend should have shown interest in their union by attending union meetings and have an interest in contributing to the good of the union membership through the workshops attended.
Once completed, applications should be sent to CUPE 716’s Education Committee member Lisa Devitt, or can be scanned and emailed to the CUPE office at firstname.lastname@example.org or, alternatively, can be sent via District mail to the CUPE office at Sea Island School.
