The 13th Annual Richmond School District Scholarship Bike Ride will be on Saturday, May 24th, 2025. This is an annual event aimed at bringing the community together to raise funds for scholarships for graduating students in Richmond. It is a fun and casual 12km ride, and open to all.
Each year, 10 x $500 scholarships are provided to graduating student in Richmond, one per secondary school. Our goal is to raise $5000 annually through this event. All donations are collected online through the Richmond School District, and a tax-deductible receipt is provided. Even if you are unable to attend the ride, we appreciate your support by making a donation.
We invite everyone to join us for the ride and a post-ride BBQ on Saturday, May 24th. We meet at J.N. Burnett Secondary School at 10:00am, share a few words about the event, and then depart together for the ride. The ride is an easy loop that returns to Burnett for a BBQ lunch graciously provided by M&M Food Market. This provides time to connect in community with conversation and laughter. The entire event only takes about 2 hours, including lunch – please join us and bring a friend!
This ride also provides us with an opportunity to remember and honour two great SD38 educators and school leaders – Lorne Bodin and Targett Ng, who were passionate cyclists and advocates for wellness. This ride started in memory of them.
We would love for you to join us, by using this link to DONATE and REGISTER.
